We are currently seeking 2 x highly-motivated Basic Grade Occupational Therapist to join our team in CH07 Mid Kildare

Contract Type:         1 x Permanent Contact 1.0 WTE 
                                  1 x Specified Purpose Contract (Maternity Leave)

Contract Hours:        35 hours per week

Salary Scale:        €39,993 to €53,279 pro rata per annum

Overview of the Post:

To work as a member of the inter/trans-disciplinary team providing services to children and families within the region.  The post holder will be responsible for the provision of an occupational therapy service to include assessment diagnostics and intervention and ongoing service delivery to children with a range of disabilities. Services are provided to children aged 0 – 18 years with physical, sensory, learning disabilities, developmental delay and autism. 

Overview of Duties & Responsibilities:

•    Plans and organises activities and necessary resources efficiently and effectively.
•    Understands the importance of time management for themselves and in particular how this translates to organising their assigned caseload.
•    Demonstrates the ability to arrange and schedule activities. 
•    Deals with unexpected scenarios under supervision with persistence and flexibility to ensure the achievement of goals.
•    Maintains a disciplined and professional level of performance under sustained or situational pressure.


 

The successful candidate will have:

Essential Criteria:

i.    Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU (https://www.coru.ie/)
And
ii.    Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office
And
iii.    Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued
And
iv.    Be eligible to work in the state
v.    Valid driving licence for within the state / jurisdiction with access to own transfer in order to delivery services across a large geographical area
Annual Registration
vi.    On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU
vii.    Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to Enable Ireland 

Desirable Criteria:

•    Postgraduate experience of working with children and families in a community based setting.
•    Post graduate experience working in disability services for a minimum of 6 months
