We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Speech & Language Therapist (Basic Grade) to join our team in a CDNT base at Enable Ireland, Curraheen, Cork 

Contract Type: Permanent 

Contract Hours: 35 hours per week (1 WTE)

Salary Scale: €39,993 to €53,279 pro rata per annum

“This pay scale is subject to increases in 2024 in accordance with the recent WRC interim agreement (Ref  CAM -100101-22 ) towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations.”   

Overview of the Post:

Enable Ireland delivers children’s services under the national Progressing Disabilities Services (PDS) model for children and young people with complex needs arising from a disability. As a Lead Agency within this model, Enable Ireland has responsibility for the delivery of services to children assigned to Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNT) within designated network areas. Services are provided in accordance with legislative and service delivery frameworks and requirements, within the resources allocated. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the post holder will provide Speech and Language Therapy services, including assessment and intervention to children and adolescents enrolled on the CDNT. Services will be provided across a variety of settings including the clinic, schools, preschools and special schools, children’s homes and community settings.

Essential Criteria:

The successful candidate will have:
•    Be registered, or be eligible for registration, as a Speech & Language Therapist by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU. 
AND 
•    Candidates must have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office. 
AND 
•    Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Speech & Language Therapist Register maintained by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued

•    On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Speech & Language Therapists Register maintained by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU.

•    Be eligible to work in the state.

•    Full manual drivers licence with access to own transport (applications from candidates with learner permit will be considered, with employment conditional upon securing full manual licence within 18 months of commencement).

Desirable Criteria:

•    Clinical experience of working with children and their families as part of an interdisciplinary team with a pediatric FEDS caseload.
•    Relevant training specific to children with disabilities (0-18 years) 
•    Access to own transport
•    Demonstrates sufficient clinical skills in Speech and Language Therapy assessment, intervention and diagnostics to meet the specific needs of the relevant caseload 0 – 18 children’s services.
