Enable Ireland Kildare Children's Services

Service provision in Enable Ireland Kildare is by the team who include the following: physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, social work, clinical psychology, paediatrician, early education and child care.

Referral is made directly to the service in Enable Ireland Kildare and may come from many sources e.g. Hospital/Consultant, G.P., school and community services, parents.

The service operates from Monday to Friday during normal working hours. The regularity of attendance depends upon the child's needs and this is based on the planning that follows assessment and reviews.

Services are provided from the centre, in the child's home/pre-school/school/local community. There are services provided in the Health Centres in both Athy and Celbridge once a month.

Services are provided free of charge.

The Kildare Service adopts an interdisciplinary paediatric team approach to working with children and adolescents with a physical disability. Individual Family Service Plans, where both team and family work in partnership to set goals and make decisions is an integral part of the service provision. The team currently consists of Occupation Therapist, Physiotherapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Social Worker and Administration.
