We are very proud to announce that our adult service in Castleconnell, Limerick has won a Supervalu Tidy Towns Award for the Best Presented Service 2018. Eoin Walsh, who attends the service in Castleconnell, has been instrumental in the upkeep of the garden and outside areas of our building.

"Gardening is nice, relaxing and enjoyable.  It helps me clear my head by being out in the fresh air.  I was very happy and proud to win the award for the centre.  I like having everything neat and tidy.  I am looking forward to working with the Tidy Towns in the spring to look after the community garden and I hope to win another award for myself."

Limerick Adult Services opened it's doors in Castleconnell in April of 2017 and currently caters for 16 adults with disabilities.   We provide an individualised service that offers supports to experience freedom of choice which will lead to the "Good Things in Life."  These include having a say, freedom of movement and a sense of belonging and contribution to their local community. Individuals attending the service take an active role in the day to day running of the centre by participating in house meetings, stock taking, shopping for groceries and supplies, and gardening. They take the lead in any activities that take place such as sign language, poetry and meditation and are also individually supported to achieve personal goals both in the community and within the centre.
