We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Lead – Permanent, Full-Time (39 hours per week), in our Enable Ireland Cork Adult Services

The Role: 

The overall purpose of the Team Leader role is to support the development of hubs and to take a lead role in managing the delivery of services from the assigned hubs.  A key focus will be on promoting integration of the hub into the local community, facilitating access to programs using a person centred approach and in line with New Directions.   

Key Working Relationships:
Enable Ireland has a wide range of stakeholders with whom strong professional relationships need to be forged and maintained. These stakeholders include adults and their families and carers, colleagues in HSE and other agencies and supports within the community. 

Job Summary:
The post holder will report to and work closely with the Service Coordinator in the development and delivery of the service. The team lead will work with service users and the staff team taking lead responsibility for the preparation, implementation and monitoring of all day to day activities within the day service program, the RT program, and the Community based programs (Hubs) for the areas assigned.

The Team lead will be required to be flexible in relation to working arrangements and duties and in relation to varied work locations. Flexibility in relation to working hours is a prerequisite to facilitate service user’s needs and will involve working some evenings and weekends and occasional nights.

Overview of Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Ensure the delivery of appropriate and effective service to each service user as agreed with service user and staff team.

2. Ensure that the highest standard of service user care is maintained and participate in the delivery of all supports required to enable service users to participate fully in activities of daily living, including personal care supports.

3. To provide leadership and support to the staff assigned in line with policies

 

4. To support service users to access Enable Ireland’s Transport by facilitating and co-ordinating transport on a daily basis, including assisting with driving as required.

5. To observe and respect the confidentiality and safety of service users and to safeguard their privacy, dignity and values in a professional manner.

6. Contribute to the development of strategies for the implementation of new directions to meet the identified and emerging needs of the service users.

7. To foster new partnerships and to establish links with local services which will enable service users to engage within their local community.

8. To participate in and implement staff Personal Development Planning, Supervision and Individual Performance Management & Review for staff.

9. Coordinate staff and ensure that duties, activities and programmes allocated to staff are carried out efficiently.

10. Together with the Service Coordinator, to ensure all health and safety policies and procedures, safe work practices, and risk management process are developed and adhered to.

11. To execute duties as Person In Charge as defined by day service policy when the need arises

12. To assume the responsibility of the Service co-ordinator during periods of leave.

13. To be responsible for opening and closing of buildings as required.

14. To perform all duties and tasks in line with Enable Ireland guidelines and policies, and training given. 

15. To provide administrative support including compiling service statistics, typing of reports, correspondence, filing, drafting presentations, etc. in line with G.D.P.R regulations.

16. To assist in maintaining the service user filing system in line with GDPR regulations.

17. To be responsible for managing of inputting of information onto relevant databases and the monitoring and auditing of same.

18. To provide a point of contact for the service and to deal with queries in a timely, profession, and courteous manner.

 

The successful candidate will have:

Essential Criteria:

• Social Care or other relevant health related qualification
• Min 2/3 years previous experience working in a health or  social care setting
• Experience of a high degree of professional autonomy in relation to the key areas of administration
• Experience in delivering services within the social model of care
• Experience of supporting service users to achieve their goals and assisting in all activities of daily living including personal care
• Full clean driving licence
• Knowledge of the ethos, values and model of working within Enable Ireland
• Excellent IT skills, work, excel, power point
• Knowledge of New Directions and its implementation
• Good knowledge of relevant policies and legislation e.g FOI, GDPR, protection of vulnerable adults, HIQA
• Knowledge and understanding of current issues in the field of disability services
• Evidence of work load prioritisation
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams
• Experience of working with groups of staff and devise and manage staff rosters
• Understand how a relief panel operates across a variety of locations
• Demonstrate the ability to work within organisational policies and procedures
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information/issues appropriately
• Ability to foster links and create partnerships in the community including all internal and external stakeholders
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, oral and written
• Demonstrates active listening.
• Ability to relate to sensitively and positively to adults with a disability and their families/ carers
• Understands the importance of policies and procedures
• Experience in maintaining record management systems
• Understands the importance of professional boundaries and dignity and respect
• Have a working knowledge of safeguarding Vulnerable Adults

• Evidence of ability to deal with performance management

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience of supervising staff
• Team lead experience
• To be in possession of or willing to obtain D or D1 Licence
• Awareness of services for people with disabilities in community based setting
• Good knowledge of the disability sector and health services sector
• Ability to solve complex problems
• Demonstrates conflict management skills
•  Project management experience
• Experience in managing staff budgets
• Experience of augmented alternative communication systems
• Willingness to undertake training in assistive technology and AAC
• Supervisory experience of teams
