Senior Physiotherapist Ref EIJB0403

Contract Type: Permanent part time

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Physiotherapist x 2 days per week (0.4 WTE), working with adults with disabilities in the CHO7 area.

The Role:  To develop a programme within the service which will best suit the needs of  individual Service Users. This will include responsibility for ongoing assessment and intervention with individual Adult Service Users providing support, training and advice on handling skills, mobility, positioning and postural management to Service users and their families and carers.

The successful candidate will have:

Essential Criteria:

• A recognised validated University Degree or Diploma or an equivalent qualification in physiotherapy.
• 3 years recent relevant post qualification experience.
• Minimum 1 year post qualification experience of working with adults with a range of disabilities.
• Registered with CORU
• Be eligible for membership or be a member of the ISCP. 
• Evidence of relevant CPD.

Desirable Criteria:

• 2 years experience with children or adults with a primary physical disability
• Experience of multidisciplinary team working.
• Experience of supervising students/therapy assistants/support staff.

Duties & Responsibilities

 Demonstrates sufficient clinical skills in assessment intervention and diagnostics to meet the specific needs of the relevant caseload
 Collaborate skillfully with the service users and other stakeholders while working in partnership with the service user’s parent/family/carer to identify goals, including complex situations.
 Ensures that professional standards are adhered to according to the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists.
