Contract Type: Permanent full time

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Occupational Therapist (permanent/full-time, post) based at our Enable Ireland Children’s Service in Sandymount.

The Role: 
To work as a senior member of the inter / transdisciplinary team providing services to children and families within the region.  The post holder will be responsible for the provision of an occupational therapy service to include assessment diagnostics and intervention, clinical and performance supervision and ongoing service delivery to children with a range of disabilities attending our service.   Services are provided to children aged 0 – 18 years with physical, sensory, learning disabilities, developmental delay.

Some Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Planning and organising individual and group caseloads, to include assessments, interventions and diagnosis for children (0– 18 years) with a range of disabilities including physical, sensory, learning disabilities and developmental delay.
  •  Taking responsibility for the line management and clinical supervision of basic therapists, volunteers/students within the team/service as required.
  •  Collaborating skilfully with the service user and other stakeholders while working in partnership with the service user’s parent/family/carer to identify goals, including complex situations.

The successful candidates will have:

Essential Criteria:

• A recognised validated University Degree or Diploma or an equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy
• Be registered with Coru
• Relevant post-graduate training.
• 3 years recent relevant post qualification experience which includes a minimum of two year post qualification experience of working with children with a range of disabilities/developmental delay and their families.
• Post Graduate training and Experience in seating and postural management.

Desirable Criteria:

• Relevant post graduate training in the following the areas: sensory integration, NDT/ Bobath, splinting and upper limb assessment and treatment.
