Relief Driver EIJB0060

We have an exciting opportunity for a Driver in our Enable Ireland Dublin Adult Services.  This is a relief contract.

The Role:  The purpose of the role is to transport adults with a disability to/from the Enable Ireland services, and to other locations within the community as required. Drivers may also support clients by driving them to their respite locations.

Overview of Duties & Responsibilities
• Ensure all passengers and/or equipment is properly secured including using the appropriate restraints for wheelchairs.
• To operate hoists in a safe manner and in line with training.
• Assist with loading/unloading of passengers.
• To check vehicle is in roadworthy condition before use, to include checking of oil, water, windscreen wash, etc.
• To ensure vehicles are kept clean and tidy both interior and exterior.
• To record the daily run details in log book provided in each vehicle.
• To ensure the vehicle has appropriate levels of fuel before each journey, and to refuel where required in line with policy.
• Carry out administrative functions to record activities of the department in line with policy and procedures.
• Carry out light grounds work - caretaking/grounds maintenance duties.
• Carry out any other duty commensurate with the nature of the post.

The successful candidate will have:

Essential Criteria:

 Leaving Cert or equivalent.
 Experience working with people with disabilities.
 D1 Driving License with driving experience.
 Holder of CPC Driver Card.

Desirable Criteria:

 Experience working with adults in social/leisure setting.
 Experience of working in community/non-centred based setting.
 Experience in clamping wheelchairs.
