We have an exciting opportunity for a Pool Attendant, based at our Enable Ireland Kildare / West Wicklow Services - Mid Kildare Network Disability Team, Jigginstown, Naas, Co. Kildare

The Role: The purpose of the role is to manage the operation of the hydrotherapy pool and to assist therapists during hydrotherapy sessions.

Overview of Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide lifeguard cover to the pool during the assigned times.
• Carry out ongoing testing and treatment of pool water and routine pool plant procedures in line with policy.
• Monitoring of all Hydrotherapy pool area maintenance contracts
• Liaise with outside contractors when pool maintenance issues arise or as requested.
• Supervise all service users during their therapy sessions in the pool.
• Assist the therapists in the pool where necessary
• Support service users to enter/exit the pool using the equipment provided.
• Maintain the general order, cleanliness and tidiness of pool and surrounding areas, including changing area in accordance with guidelines.
• Carry out departmental stock control, ordering and receiving supplies.
• Ensure all pool equipment is kept fully operational and is cleaned after use, as appropriate. 
• Monitor equipment and reports faults in same in line with procedure.
• Support the therapists in scheduling hydrotherapy appointments.
• Assist in group activities, summer camps, etc.
• Provide first aid as and when required.
• Carry out administrative functions for the pool, including the recording of activities
• Assist the [Manager] with Risk Assessments in the Hydrotherapy Pool Area
• Maintenance of pool chemicals and supplies and provision of relevant data sheets for relevant chemicals
• Opening/closing up of the pool as required – this will include some weekend hours to cover leave periods

The successful candidate will have:

Essential Criteria:

• Rescue 3 with Pool Plant Operators Course or Rescue 4 Qualification (Water Safety Ireland) or equivalent

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience of Pool Plant management including water treatment procedures.
• Experience of working with children.
• Experience working with children with a disability.
• Level 2 Swimming Teacher Qualification or equivalent
• Experience of working in a pool and/or hydrotherapy pool environment
