We have an exciting opportunity for a 1:1 Care Assistant Kenmare, based at our Enable Ireland, Kerry Adult Services, Edward Street, Tralee Co. Kerry

The Role: The purpose of the role is to work as part of the Adult Services team to provide a high standard of care assistance to service users to attend and access the service.  The key elements of the role will include; assisting with personal care, feeding, support in educational and social activities.  Previous experience of working with adults with a physical disability would be an advantage.  

Overview of Duties & Responsibilities

•  Working under the direction of Adult Services Manager to provide person-centred support to adults attending services.
• Provide timely and appropriate care to service users including personal care and feeding, as part of the support services team.
• To provide person-centred Keyworking support to adults attending the service.
• Work under the direction of the tutors to facilitate service user’s individual training needs.
• Work under the direction of co-ordinator to facilitate individuals therapy/hydro therapy needs.
• To be responsible for service users during transportation to and from activities.
• Participate in the implementation of Person Centred Programmes for adult service users.
• Maintain a satisfactory record system including updated evaluations of assessment in relation to individual’s needs and performance.
• Work under and in line with Enable Ireland Policy and Procedures.
• Maintaining a code of confidentiality and discretion in all dealings with service users, families and staff.
• Participate in training as required
• Any other appropriate duties which may be assigned

The successful candidate will have:

Essential Criteria:

• Qualification in relevant HealthCare/Social Care (Fetac level5)
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience as a care assistant.
• Experience of working with Adults with a Physical, sensory and neurological disability.
• Experience & ability to support individual with personal /intimate care needs.
• Experience & ability to support individuals with Eating Drinking and swallowing needs.

Desirable Criteria:

• 3 years’ experience of working within a disability sector.
• Experience of Keyworking.
