2019.08.08 Basic Grade Occupational Therapist - EIJB0345

Location: Monaghan
Contract Type: Permanent full time

We have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist, permanent full-time post in our *Cavan Monaghan Service (Post will be based in Monaghan).
The Role:  The post holder will be responsible for the provision of an occupational therapy service including assessment, diagnostics and intervention as required to all children accessing the Early Services and will work as a member of the inter/trans-disciplinary team providing services to children and families.
The successful candidate will have:
Essential Criteria:
• Degree in Occupational Therapy. Eligibility for membership to the Association of Occupational Therapists of Ireland (AOTI)
• Be eligible to work in the state.
• Recent relevant experience working in the area of disability.
• Registered with CORU National Occupational Therapists Registration Board
• Recent, relevant post graduate, or under-graduate placement experience, in a paediatric setting.
• Full Drivers Licence with access to own transport

Desirable Criteria:
• Interdisciplinary team working.
• Postgraduate experience of working with children with disabilities in a community based setting
• Minimum of one year recent experience working with children with disabilities and their families.
• Any relevant post graduate training specific to child disability services.
• Experience in conducting Assessment of need.
• An awareness and understanding of the features of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Demonstrates sufficient clinical skills in assessment intervention and diagnostics to meet the specific needs of children with a range of disabilities / developmental delay.
• Works in collaboration with the other members of the inter/transdisciplinary team in the planning and delivery of services for children, in particular in the development of person centred planning.
 Participates in training and developmental opportunities as identified and agreed.
