We have an exciting opportunity for a 1:1 Community Care Assistant based in Kenmare. Reporting to Kerry Adult Services Manager at Enable Ireland, Kerry Adult Services, Edward St, Tralee.

The Role:  The purpose of the role is to provide Personal Assistant supports to an individual with a physical disability.  To support the individual within their community.
Overview of Duties & Responsibilities
• Working under the direction of Adult Services Manager and Person Centred Planning facilitator to provide person-centred support to an individual within their community.
• Provide timely and appropriate care to individual including personal care and feeding, as part of the support services team.
• To provide Assistive Technology & I.T. support. 
• To provide person-centred Keyworking support as part of the team.
• Work under the direction of the tutors to facilitate service user’s individual training needs.
• Work under the direction of co-ordinator to facilitate individuals therapy/hydro therapy needs.
• To be responsible for service users during transportation to and from activities.
• Participate in the implementation of Person Centred Programmes for adult service users.
• Maintain a satisfactory record system including updated evaluations of assessment in relation to individuals needs and performance
• Work under and in line with Enable Ireland Policy and Procedures.
• Maintaining a code of confidentiality and discretion in all dealings with service users, families and staff.
• Participate in training as required
• Any other appropriate duties which may be assigned

The successful candidate will have:
Essential Criteria:
• Qualification in relevant Health Care/Social Care (Fetac level 5)

• Minimum of 1 years’ experience working as a

• Care Assistant.

• Experience of working with Adults with Physical, sensory and neurological disabilities.

• Experience & ability to support individual with personal/intimate care needs

• Experience & ability to support individuals with Eating Drinking and swallowing needs
Desirable Criteria:

• 3 Years’ experience of working within the disability sector

• Experience of Keyworking
