We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM1) - Permanent and Full-Time (39 hours per week) in our Enable Ireland Cork, Adult Respite Services, Ladysbridge, Co. Cork

The Role: 
The Clinical Nurse Manager will be responsible for leading a dedicated team in delivering quality standards of care and support to provide adults with physical and sensory support needs with a much sought after person centred respite service.  This will involve working with and being supported by senior management in obtaining (where required) and maintaining registration with the Health Information and Quality Authority. This post will also be responsible and successful in leading the way for progressive effective development of respite solutions to a growing number of individuals reliant upon respite in the Cork and Kerry area.

Overview of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Successful Candidate will:
• Practice nursing according to Professional Clinical Guidelines National and Area Health Service Executive (HSE guidelines), local policies, protocols, guidelines and current legislation.
• Assist in provision of services to adults with physical and sensory support requirements and therefore the candidate will need to show relevant experience in the physical and sensory disability sector.
• Need to provide strong leadership in clinical practice and act as a resource and role model for clinical practice.
• Provide leadership, supervision and support to Nursing and Care Coordinators/ Support teams in the provision of clinical and care support services.
• Be responsible for the co-ordination, assessment, planning, implementation and review of care for service users according to service standards and HIQA Standards for Residential Services for Adults with a Disability.

Essential Criteria:
• Registered Nurse with An Bord Altranais
• 5 years post qualification experience
• 5 years’ experience of working with people with Disabilities
• Evidence of CPD
• Possess a full clean drivers licence

• Understand the Role of Enable Ireland in Supporting People with Disabilities
• Show knowledge of supporting people with complex physical disabilities
• Knowledge and experience of Person Centred Planning
• Knowledge on relevant policy and legislation in particular Health Act 2007, 2013 Regulations, New Directions and Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults
• Knowledge and experience of HIQA standards
• Demonstrate an understanding of the concept of Social Model of service delivery
• Experience in rostering
• Experience in managing staff and budgets
• Demonstrate the ability to manage a group of staff
• Experience in working with relief staff
• Understand how a relief panel operates across a variety of locations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively and to demonstrate good interpersonal skills with service users, staff etc.
• Demonstrates the ability to lead a team
• Experience of working in an interdisciplinary team approach
• Builds a rapport quickly and easily
• Demonstrates the ability to multitask
• Demonstrates knowledge of both residential and respite services
• Be proficient in Computers in Microsoft Office

Desirable Criteria:
• Management course commenced or completed
• Evidence of management experience
• Experience in managing complex staffing issues
