The North Tipperary Early Intervention and School Age Teams provide specialist therapeutic assessment and intervention to children with complex disabilities and/or developmental delay in the North Tipperary catchment area. The service is a partnership between Enable Ireland and the HSE.

Our service is child and family centred and is offered across a range of settings. These may include in our centre, at home, or in the child's school and preschool as appropriate. Children access services though either the Early Intervention Team (from birth to approximately six years) or through the School Age Team (from approximately 6 – 18 years of age).

Who is eligible for services?

Children under six years of age who are not yet attending school and who have been diagnosed with or who are at risk of developing a disability, or have been a high risk neonate or who have been appropriately screened and have a query or diagnosis of ASD, should be referred to the Early Intervention Team.  Children who are over six or who are attending school and who have a primary physical, physical or intellectual disability and who have complex developmental needs or who have been screened by another service who have query or diagnosis of ASD, should be referred to the School Age Team. You can find more detailed information at www.mwcds.ie.

A referral can also be made through a primary care team therapist or through another service such as Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHs).
