Volunteers required for the Rotary Remembrance Tree, Cork

Enable Ireland in Cork need volunteers to join us from the 9th to the 24th of December for two-hour slots anytime between 9am and 7pm on Patrick’s Street outside of Brown Thomas Cork.

This is the 14th year of the Cork City based Rotary Tree of Remembrance which is a collaboration between the Rotary Club of Cork and the Rotary Club of Bishopstown. In return for any donation, a person gets to write a personal dedication in memory of a loved one on a yellow ribbon which is erected on the tree. Enable Ireland is delighted to be one of the two main 2017 beneficiaries of the project with Marymount Hospice being the other.

The ribbons are left on the tree for two weeks after Christmas culminating in an Ecumenical blessing in SS Peter & Paul’s Church in January.

We are looking for volunteers to help man the tree. It is hugely rewarding work for Enable Ireland whilst also meeting many people who are using the opportunity to remember someone close to them.
