Toileting

Toileting aids fall into two main categories. Those which enable a person to be independent and those which make it easier and safer for the person who requires assistance.

The following are some examples of each sort. As before these examples are to give you an idea of what is available and for further information you will need to contact some of the suppliers listed.

Raised Toilet Seat

Made of plastic, lightweight, easy to clean. Front and rear cut outs aid personal cleansing. Secured to the toilet bowl with two L shaped moulded brackets.

Toilet seat with arm rests

This plastic seat has arm rests which offer extra support to the user. The arms can be raised for side transfer.

Savanah Toilet Frame

A toilet frame with all the features of a raised toilet seat.

Folding Rails

The support arms can be folded when not in use and some models have a height adjustment facility.

Bottom Wiper

Designed to assist people with limited reach and range of movement. To be used from front.

WC VA Mat - Enable Supplies

This is an automatic toilet unit, with washing and drying facilities. It can be accessed by an external hand or foot button.

Showering/Bathing

The aids available for toileting fall into 2 main categories. Those which enable a person to be independent, such as a bath board or shower seat and grab rails and those which make it easier and safer for the person who requires assistance such as a hoist or showering bench.

Bathboard

Plastic quick draining bathboard which can be secured to the bath with brackets. A handle provides added security.

Combined Bathboard and Seat

Bathboard with attached padded seat which can be adjusted to suit bath depth.

Flat Pack Bath Seat

A two-piece plastic bath seat can be packed flat for storage and transportation, rubber suckers secure seat to bath.

Swivel Shower Seat

Sturdy swivel seat allows user to sit into seat and rotate into position over bath.

Bath Master 2000

A stable bathlift with padded seating and easy to operate hand controls. Both seat and frame can be folded and removed from bath.

Harrogate Shower Chair

A height adjustable shower chair with curved seat and castors with brakes.

Pressalit Height Adjustable Shower Seat

This wall mounted, height adjustable shower seat has a slip resistant padded backrest and seat, which can be folded against the wall when not in use.

Bath Pressure Relief Cushion

This gel filled cushion conforms to the user’s shape and provides even pressure distribution across sitting area.

Non-Slip Bath Mat

This white towelling mat has suction pads on underside to prevent slipping.

Shoulder Mounted Shampoo Tray

This tray is mounted on the shoulder with padded foam straps, allows water to drain into sink for shampooing.

Body Washers

Long handled sponges allow users with limited reach to clean difficult to reach areas independently.
