Certified AT Training Course

Our nine day AT course is certified by Dublin Institute of Technology under their Continuing Professional Development programme, and runs a minimum of once yearly, and sometimes twice yearly. We run this course in Microsoft in Sandyford, Dublin every year, and where demand dictates, run it in a location outside of Dublin annually. In 2009 this course will run in both Sandyford and the University of Limerick.

This course includes additional online learning components and post-course project work, all of which must be completed successfully by course participants to merit graduation.

Customised AT Workshops

We run a range of customized AT workshops to meet the needs of specific training groups. These include topic-specific workshops such as:

• AT Assessment Kits: What? Why? For whom?

• Educational Software and Hardware: For primary and secondary school students

• Low Cost/No Cost AT Solutions for the school

• Low Cost/No Cost AT Solutions for the workplace

National AT Seminar

We run one National AT Seminar annually. This targets staff and service users within Enable Ireland with a view to sharing examples of good practice, problem-solving specific technical challenges and providing an open forum for our stakeholders with a specific interest in AT to enable them to support one another.

AT Supplier Training

We invite suppliers and manufacturers of specific AT software and hardware to deliver introductory and/or advanced training that is either product-specific or provides an overview of a product range, depending on audience requirements.

User-led AT Workshops

We invite product suppliers/specialist AT trainers to deliver workshops addressing the specific needs of an identified individual. Attendees consist of the AT user and his/her key worker, family members and other key participants who may be in a position to support the user (such as teachers, trainers, employers, job coaches, personal assistants, etc)

Employer Seminars

Short seminars delivered on site in corporate partners’ locations, targeting information on AT in an employment setting. These seminars focus on prevention of work related injury, retention of staff who may have already acquired an injury/disability and solutions to accommodate prospective employees with a disability who enter employment. Includes information on funding and legislation.

Employee training

Half day workshops, frequently delivered to public sector employee/union groups who wish to understand the benefits of AT and how they can provide a mentoring role to colleagues who require AT at work. Includes information on funding and legislation.
