School Outreach Team
The purpose of the School Outreach Team is to provide a family centered service to children with a primary physical disability, over the age of 5, attending mainstream primary and secondary school.
This service is delivered by an interdisciplinary team consisting of occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, social work, psychology and medical director. The team facilitates the child to achieve maximum independence and inclusion in their home, school and community. This is achieved by assessment and therapy intervention in consultation with families and schools, by linking with other agencies in the community and by raising disability awareness.
The School Outreach Team also runs a summer camp and has activity days during the year. Swimming lessons can be accessed on Wednesday afternoons in the on-site pool. There are opportunities to participate in Tae Kwon Do and Football for All.
