Enable Ireland Sandymount School Team

The School Clinic Team provides an integrated approach to the delivery of services for children attending the Enable Ireland special school in Sandymount. The team includes: Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, Nursing and Childcare.
The School Team ensures that an inter/ trans disciplinary approach is used in the delivery of a family centered service. Parents are invited to attend twice yearly family meetings. The purpose of these meetings is for parents and therapists to jointly agree therapeutic goals for the following academic year. The team also recognises the importance of a joint collaborative approach with the educational staff and work closely with teachers and special needs assistants. The team facilitates coffee mornings as informal get togethers for parents and staff. Therapists are happy to deliver specific training to parents on topics that interest them at the parent’s request.
