Enable Ireland Limerick Children's Services
Early and Children's Services
Enable Ireland Limerick currently works in partnership with the Health Service Executive (HSE) and four voluntary agencies in the Limerick area. The four agencies involved include the Brothers of Charity, St. Gabriel's Centre and St. Joseph's Foundation, Charleville.
What is transdisciplinary?
A transdisciplinary team works very closely together while interacting with families on a team and / or key worker basis. The team consists of a social worker, a psychologist, an occupational therapist, an early intervention specialist, a physiotherapist, a speech and language therapist, an administrator and a clerical assistant.
Each child who attends the service receives a transdisciplinary, play-based assessment. Two to four weeks later, the family assists in the drawing up of an Individual Development Plan which clearly outlines the child's needs. This plan is then reviewed on a 6-monthly basis.
