D.C.D. (Developmental Co-ordination Disorder Programme)

This service is provided to children aged between 5 and 12 years who have difficulty with movement and co-ordination. This difficulty may interfere with academic achievement or activities of daily living. These co-ordination difficulties are not due to a general medical condition and the children are usually within the average range of intellectual ability.
Children with developmental co-ordination disorder are provided with the services of an integrated team for assessment and therapy. The integrated team includes:
  • Paediatrician.
  • Occupational Therapist.
  • Psychologist.

The team aims to provide a comprehensive range of services including:

  • Team assessment with family involvement.
  • Individual therapy, including sensory integration.
  • Group work.
  • School support.
  • Home visits.
  • Parent support.
