What We Do

Having a child who has been diagnosed with a disability can be an overwhelming experience for any parent. Apart from dealing with the rollercoaster of not knowing what to expect and where to begin to look for help, parents can feel powerless when it comes to helping their child to develop.

At Enable Ireland, parents work with a caring team of therapists to plan for every aspect of their child's needs. Each child is an individual and will need its own programme of supports. This could mean physiotherapy, occupational therapy, assistance with feeding and speech and language therapy.

As these children grow older, we support them through their education and in building friendships as part of their community.

For adults, we offer training, education and employment supports in order to help them to achieve their personal dreams and goals and gain independence to make the choices that matter to them.

Your Donations Will Be Used To Fund:

The kind of bright and spacious facilities and up-to-date equipment needed to provide the best therapies - such as physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, speech and language therapy and occupational therapy.

Assistive technology devices which transform lives. For example, eye gaze technology recently bought with donations allows young children with cerebral palsy to 'speak' using their eyes!

Respite weekend and summer breaks so teenagers get the chance to build their independence and identity. They also get the chance to build their own friendships, which might not otherwise happen so easily.

Classes and social activities such as sport, art, music, horse-riding, cooking and summer camps.
