4. To slow down your mouse you need to decrease the 'Acceleration', do this by clicking on the slider bar next to 'Acceleration' to move the slider to the left - toward 'Low' or press ' Alt ' +' A' and then use the ' left ' arrow keys to reduce the ' Acceleration ' value (move it towards ' Low ' ).
5. Decreasing the ' Sensitivity ' also slows down the speed that your mouse scrolls down a page. To increase this speed click on the slider bar next to ' Acceleration' to move the slider to the right - toward 'High' or press ' Alt ' +' A ' and then use the ' right ' arrow key to increase the ' Acceleration' value (move it towards ' High ' ).
6. Click the ' Close ' button or press ' Alt ' + ' C ' to return to the Gnome desktop.
For Gnome versions 2.1 or newer
1. Click on the ' System' menu and then click on ' Preferences ' or press ' Alt ' + ' F1' to access the application menu and then press the ' right ' arrow until ' System' menu is highlighted and then press the ' down ' arrow until ' Preferences ' is highlighted.
2. Repeat steps 2 to 6 above.
Note: If this does not work it could be because your computer settings cannot be changed due to local IT policies - contact your local IT support for further help.
