Tough Mudder 2016

Loughcrew, Oldcastle, Co. Meath
Have you got what it takes?

Enable Ireland are recruiting a team of #muddymates to take on the Tough Mudder challenge.

Tough Mudder is a team-oriented 10-12 mile (18-20 km) obstacle course designed to test physical strength and mental grit. Tough Mudder puts camaraderie over finisher rankings and is not a timed race but a team challenge that allows participants to experience exhilarating, yet safe, world-class obstacles they won’t find anywhere else. This ethos of teamwork over finish times is hugely attractive to families, work colleagues and friends who are looking for activity breaks to fill their weekends.

Tough Mudder is challenging for even the fittest of competitors, as some of the obstacles are virtually impossible to complete alone, but the course is very achievable for most people of all abilities and levels of fitness if they work together and get their strategy right. In 2016 Tough Mudder, in partnership with Fruit Shoot, will host a Mini Mudder for children up to the age of 12, providing the opportunity for fun for all the family.

Tough Mudder is so much more than a Mud Run, the aptly named obstacles include ‘Cry Baby’ which reduces the toughest of men and women to tears, ‘Funky Monkey’ an elaborate series of monkey swings over a freezing cold man-made lake, ‘Everest’ – the highest, steepest wooden wall that can only be conquered using a human pyramid. And so the list goes on over a 10-mile course culminating in ‘Electro Shock Therapy’ – the clue is in the name!

If you’ve got what it takes and feel like training for something a bit different in 2016, then join the Enable Ireland team.

Discounted registration for the challenge is €89 for Saturday and €79 for Sunday participation using code TM16ENABLE – valid until May 1st 2016.

In addition, a minimum sponsorship of €100 per person will be required to support Enable Ireland services nationwide.
