Longest Drive & Nearest the Pin Golfing Competitions

Calling all Golfers in Cork City & County! We are looking for men & women of all levels of expertise to take part in our ‘Longest Drive’ & ‘Nearest the Pin’ charity competition. This is a two-pronged competition taking place at participating golf clubs throughout April. The aim of the fundraiser is to raise much needed funds for the completion of Enable Ireland’s Children’s Centre.
We are inviting any male or female amateur golfers, who have never held a professional status to sign up! It will cost €5 or a donation of their choice to enter the overall competition – this will entitle players to enter both competitions. Participants will compete in male or female categories with the four winners – one from each Club advancing to represent their Club in the Long Drive Final in Fota Island Golf Club on the 7th of May.

Charity Golf Competition Details (also written in text below)

Golf Clubs all over Cork city and county will be taking part in Enable Ireland's Golf Competitions in April. The competition is in two parts:

(a) Longest Drive Competition

(b) Nearest the Pin Competition

Participants will compete in male or female categories with the four winners – one from each Club advancing to represent their Club in the Longest Drive Final in Fota Island Golf Club on the 7th of May.

The competition is open to amateur (which means no PGA status) Men and Women golfers

Entry must be completed through the professional shop at their local Golf Club or through one of the official driving range or other participating centres.

Results must be completed at the end of the competitive day, by their local Golf Club Official who will register their result online

If the golfers think they can improve and want to try again, they can re-enter on another competition day throughout April and their local Golf Club Official will update their improved results online.

There is an exciting element to the competition in that there will be one wild card entry going forward from a virtual studio and driving ranges are also invited to participate.

Each Club will send 4 Winners forward to compete in the Long Drive and Nearest the Pin Final in Fota Island Golf Club on 6th May, 2017.
