Access Criteria
Access to Enable Ireland Wicklow Services
Enable Ireland Wicklow Services are contracted by the HSE to provide services to a defined service user group. In order for a child or young person to gain access to the service it is necessary to consider if they meet the access criteria set out below.
- The child must reside within the HSE, Local Health Office Wicklow catchment area, and those who live in the communities of Kilternan as defined by the HSE Local Health Office Dublin South East, and Shankill as defined by the HSE Local Health Office Dun Laoghaire.
- The child must fall within the age range of 0-18 years
- The child must have a primary physical disability as a result of a diagnosed neurological deficit or muscular disease such as Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Muscular Dystrophy
- The child must require a team based service intervention, with a minimum of two disciplines.
- The child must be assessed by Enable Ireland as having specific outcome needs which can be met by the services of Enable Ireland Wicklow.
- A child who has, or may have, both a physical and intellectual disability and their primary disability and needs are not yet identified will be considered for ongoing assessment and intervention until it is clear where the child’s needs can be best met. The service team will review this on an ongoing basis.
- A child who is referred by the HSE Assessment Officer for an Independent Assessment of Need, and who meet the above criteria.
- A child (6-18 years of age) who meets the criteria for the Enable Ireland Wicklow Service Aontas (D.C.D.) programme.
