Pre-School
Enable Ireland is about more than just supplying services, it's a much broader scope than that. As a parent of a special needs child, you come to understand that your kid's needs are constantly changing and it's important that the people who are caring for him are able to adapt to that.
In the pre-school years children acquire important skills that they build on later in school. They learn about themselves, things they like to do, their surroundings and about others.
As well as assisting the child to develop the maximum mobility and control of their body, the team will advise on suitable positioning and communication aids to enable the child to better partake in every-day activities. As children mature their life experiences and expectations broaden.
While service interventions remain important during this time, so does extending supports to assist social and emotional independence in education and community settings.
Our services provide a broad range of supports and options for the pre-school child as they begin to grow up. The majority of children will attend mainstream pre-school and we can provide support to the school as well as to the child.
Team members are available to talk to the school to advise on aspects of learning and welfare, and to identify appropriate equipment to make things more accessible. They will talk you through the best options for your child.
