Enable Ireland Limerick Adult Services
Personal Portfolios
A highly trained staff manages the activities of service users and each is assigned a key worker. The key worker and the service user work together to create a unique personal portfolio. This is a record of courses and other information relating to the development of a service user during the time spent at the Day Activity Centre. It allows the progress of each service user to be constantly monitored.
A personal portfolio gives a service user more control, independence and input into their daily lives. Each service user discusses the activities they would like to do each week with their key worker and a schedule is then devised. At the same time, staff have specific objectives for the week and weekly meetings are conducted so that changing needs of the service user can be constantly met.
Person-Centred Planning
The PCP process develops a holistic personal profile with the service user, setting objectives based on personal aspirations and using a capacity searching approach. This process assists participants to identify their strengths, needs, abilities and preferences resulting in the formulation of individual person centred plans based upon realistic goals.

The programme also aims to facilitate and encourage trainees to become more involved and included in their local community.

- IT Training - Service users work with the instructor on an individual basis.
