Enable Ireland Crumlin Adult Services

Services for adults with a physical disability from the Dublin area were originally concentrated in our Sandymount centre. In order to facilitate people to access services in their own locality Enable Ireland Dublin Adult Services established community based services. Opened in January 2003 and based in the Cashel Road Business Park, Crumlin, this service caters for people living in the Dublin 12 area.

Who can avail of this service?

Future service users from the catchment area of Dublin 12 currently attending Enable Ireland schools in Sandymount.
Other people with a primary physical disability from this catchment area not currently associated with Enable Ireland. 
 
 

How to access this service

Referrals to the service can be made through the individual, the individual’s parents or guardians, the HSE, their school, social worker, vocational guidance officer and other such persons. Contact the centre directly for more information.

 

Programmes/Activities

Activities and programmes undertaken are in consultation with individual service users with reference to their needs and aspirations. Some people avail of the service on a daily basis and follow the structured "Wheels" training programme whereas others follow programmes tailored to their specific needs and may attend on a part-time basis.
 
 

Person Centred Planning

The Person Centred Planning process is at the core of the service offered by Dublin Adult Services. The PCP process develops a holistic personal profile with the service user setting objectives based on personal aspirations and using a capacity searching approach.

This process assists participants to identify their strengths, needs, abilities and preferences resulting in the formulation of individual person centred plans based upon realistic goals. Each service user is appointed a Key Worker to assist them with this process.
 
When developing their personal plan the individual service users are actively encouraged to take part in community based modules and supports are put in place to facilitate this.
